A war of words
*A war ⚔ of words *
From early this year, the world has witnessed President Trump and Kim Jong Un taking a jab at each other, calling each other names and openly suggesting war. Here's a walk down memory lane, with excerpts from statements made by both presidents.
*Armada*
As tensions rose over North Korea's ongoing missile testing earlier this year, the president threatened that an armada would be sent to handle the situation. "We are sending an armada, very powerful," he said in an interview. But that turned out to be an empty threat. The following week, it was revealed that the strike carrier group Trump had referenced was actually 3,000 miles away from the Korean peninsula!
*Major Conflict*
On April 28, Trump suggested that a "major, major conflict" between the two countries was possible, because of North Korea's nuclear missile program. While Trump then said he would be willing to meet with Kim under the "right circumstances" and called the leader a "smart cookie," North Korea didn't mince words.
“Now that the U.S. is kicking up the overall racket for sanctions and pressure against the DPRK … the DPRK will speed up at the maximum pace the measure for bolstering its nuclear deterrence,” the country said on April 30.
*A jab here, a jab there*
After North Korea said it had launched its first intercontinental ballistic missile in early July, Trump bombarded twitter with some important questions. "North Korea has just launched another missile. Does this guy have anything better to do with his life? Hard to believe that South Korea.....and Japan will put up with this much longer. Perhaps China will put a heavy move on North Korea and end this nonsense once and for all!"
After the sanctions against North Korea were in place, the rhetoric heated up.
"The U.S.' villainous illegal actions against our country and people will be reciprocated by thousands-fold," the country said in a statement on August 7. "If it thinks that it will be safe because it is across an ocean, there is no bigger misunderstanding than that."
*Fire and fury*
The country then threatened the U.S. territory of Guam, which, of course, made Trump retort. "North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States." Kim "has been very threatening beyond a normal state, and as I said they will be met with fire and fury and frankly power, the likes of which this world has never seen before."
North Korea's army replied, again being rather 'on-the-face' about it. "Sound dialogue is not possible with such a guy bereft of reason and only absolute force can work on him," a statement from North Korean Gen. Kim Rak Gyom said on August 9.
Trump vowed in an August 11 tweet that the U.S. military was ready. "Military solutions are now fully in place, locked and loaded, should North Korea act unwisely. Hopefully Kim Jong Un will find another path!"
Throughout the following month, North Korea launched a missile over Japan and claimed they had tested a miniaturized hydrogen bomb.
*Rocket man*
Trump then coined a name for Kim Jong - Rocket man. First put out in a tweet this week, the president then used it in his speech on Tuesday before the United Nations General Assembly. He also threatened to wipe out the country.
"The United States has great strength and patience, but if it is forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea," Trump said. "Rocket man is on a suicide mission for himself and for his regime."
Kim replied to the president's threats, calling Trump a "frightened dog. I will surely and definitely tame the mentally deranged U.S. dotard with fire," Kim said in an official statement on Thursday. (Dotard, according to Merriam-Webster, means a person who is in a "state or period of senile decay marked by decline of mental poise and alertness.")
"Kim Jong Un of North Korea, who is obviously a madman who doesn't mind starving or killing his people, will be tested like never before!" Trump responded on Friday morning.

Jail Break Yourself
The Limitation of Sin
Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.” Hebrews 12:14, NIV“
The Bible encourages us to embrace holiness without which no man can see the Lord. It’s not only seeing the Lord when He returns in His second coming. An important reason why we should not sin here on earth is not because we want to go to heaven, but because sin blurs spiritual vision.
Every man is a product of his vision. The extent of your vision is the extent of your manifestation. It’s safe to say that a man’s progress is limited by what his vision of himself is. Since spiritual vision becomes blurry when you sin, then, sin puts a limit to a man’s progress in life.
Refuse to be limited by sin. Do away with whatever sin that easily besets you today. Get help if you’re having a struggling letting it go. Don’t waste away in silence. Your case is not out of the ordinary. The bible affirms that there is nothing new under the sun. And more importantly, that there is no sin that is beyond the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. Accept His yoke-destroying work today.
TAKE ACTION
Get help in dealing with habitual sins.
Confession: Since Christ has redeemed me; I am free from sin.

21st August: Raise Your Standard
(Isaiah 55:8,9 NKJV) “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, says the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth,so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.”
The above scripture should not be seen from a perspective that man will never be able to think or reason like God. God gave us His Word so that we can think like Him. Faith will never be natural until we begin to think like God. It takes the God-kind of thoughts to exercise the God-kind of faith.
The plan of God for you is that His Word should be your standard. You have a responsibility to discover what God has said about the different aspects of your life in His Word and go a step further to establish these discoveries as final authority. Then watch as every discovery you make in the Word becomes for you a vital truth making you prevail over the matters of life.
When God’s Word becomes your standard, victory becomes a way of life. Everything in your life reflects the reality of God’s Word that the devil stops being a threat to you. Things that were not working before will begin to work. Make up your mind to esteem the Word of God today and you will be esteemed in all your ways.

Give Life to Your Faith
(James 2:17 NKJV) Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
The Bible makes it clear that faith is essential in our walk with God because He can only be reached by faith. All the blessings God destined for us can only be received by faith. It is that important!
The Word of God however reveals that faith requires corresponding actions. This simply means that there is always an action expected of you to complete the faith transaction. Until this action is carried out, your faith process is not completed. So many times our faith record with God reads incomplete because a corresponding action is missing.
For example, if you are trusting God for healing, the corresponding action will be to step away from the sick bed and conduct yourself like someone who is healthy. The words coming out of your mouth is also a corresponding action to your faith.
Your actions can actually tell whether you are in faith or not. Make sure the next time your faith record is examined, it does not read incomplete. Act in faith.

Forget Not His Benefits
(Psalms 103:2 NKJV) Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits
We often quickly get over the things God does for us without giving Him due glory. There is the tendency to just move on to receive the next thing we need from Him. This kind of attitude does not help in receiving from God. When was the last time you appreciated God for His blessings in your life?
An attitude of gratitude is essential if you really want to maximize His blessings in your life. The appreciation should not be limited to the major breakthroughs of life. You should also learn to thank God for everyday benefits of His mercies and grace.
Praise God for your health, protection from evil, preservation and provision. And do not leave out the fact that God gave you the opportunity to experience His saving grace. Without this, remember, you would not have been named among the saints.
Thanking God for small things will set you up for bigger breakthroughs. So before you move on to the next prayer request, acknowledge God for the present benefits you are enjoying. Do that now and always.

Be a Doer
(James 1: 25 NKJV) But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.
The Word of God is full of power for prosperity, but you need to know how to release this power before you can greatly benefit from it. It is not good enough to store up scriptures in your memory. Until transition is made from knowing the Word in the head to practicing it in your daily life, power is not released.
There is a difference between the sense knowledge of the Word of God and revelation knowledge of it. The former is simply called mental assent. There is no power in this. Revelation knowledge on the other hand propels you to act on the Word of God. Acting on the Word is real faith; it is what triggers off God's power.
Real faith steps out in boldness to do what is written in the Word. Stepping out this way brings God's power on the scene, thereby making the “impossible” possible. Don't be contented with having mere sense knowledge; stay with the Word long enough to receive revelation that will make you act in line. This will ensure you are always prosperous and blessed.

Don't Frustrate God's Grace
(Galatians 2:20,21 NKJV) I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.”
God has called every one of His children to a life completely free of stress; it is the life of faith. When you surrendered your life to God, you were given a brand new spirit that can accommodate faith. And the Spirit of God gained residence in you to teach you the ways of God.
The grace of God has so much simplified faith that you have to make some good effort to complicate it. Sadly enough, many Christians make unnecessary effort to please God only to end up displeasing Him. The only way to please God is to connect to His grace by faith.
You are not called to impress God by your works. Rather you are called to obey His Word. Learn to rely on God's help as you walk by faith. Stop struggling in your flesh. Be obedient to the Spirit of God and you will enjoy living by faith. Jesus died and rose up from the dead so that faith can be natural to you. You are the just. Be yourself and live by faith.
